Model for Parkinson’s Disease drugs: L-deprenyl protects zebrafish dopaminergic neurons from MPTP damage.
Zygogen is developing a Z-TagSM Parkinson’s disease assay that utilizes the neurotoxin 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) to destroy dopaminergic neurons. To date, we have developed a zebrafish model for Parkinson’s disease that is useful both for drug target validation as well as compound screening.
